If you work out your biceps with exercises that don’t utilise the entire muscle then you could build biceps that look slightly out of proportion. For example being able to see ample amounts of bicep muscle while looking front on, however when you look from behind much less bicep is visible.

The Bicep is divided into two parts the brachii often referred to as the long head and the brachialis often called the short head. If you work out your long head more and neglect the short head you will build biceps like in the example above.
This is why when performing bicep workouts for mass you must have impeccable form. By altering the style of your lift, you will reduce the workload on the targeted part of the muscle.
When working both sides of the bicep at the same time growth is induced much faster, so don’t be surprised if you get some great ‘noob’ gains.

First of all to build thick biceps you need to push your arms to the limit so going to failure on each set is a must. It’s almost a HIT routine so keep rest at a maximum of 60seconds.
Barbell Curls
Barbells curls are brilliant you can use them to build both your long and short head. By gripping the bar with a wide grip you will work the long head (inner) bicep. This will help give you the peaks, you can then follow up with close grip to work the outer bicep giving you thickness.
Hammer Curls
Hammer curls are great for the short head building that thickness.
Concentration Curls
Perfect for sculpting your peaks and killing your biceps at the end of your workout.
